My TechSoup colleagues often ask me "which NetSquared members have TechSoup accounts?" My answer, sadly, is that I don't know. But I'd like to, because I want to invite all those NetSquared members without a TechSoup account to create their free profile so that we can start saving them money on tech!
What We Know About Overlap Between the NetSquared and TechSoup Lists

I have one questionable datapoint, which is that 51% of eligible NetSquared members in Canada and the USA have TechSoup accounts. But that's a self-reported figure and we know that many nonprofit staff don't know their organization already has a TechSoup account.
Meetup.com doesn't allow me to export email addresses or any other unique personal identifiers, so I can't do any additional research with the meetup list, but many NetSquared groups are also maintaining an email list. This creates the opportunity for TechSoup to check whether these NetSquared members already have TechSoup accounts.
This research approach isn't perfect and won't be fully representative of the NetSquared community, but it gives us a second data point to compare against the self-reported responses from the survey.
The Ask: Participate in Research Project
We are looking for NetSquared and Tech4Good groups with partial or complete email lists of their members to share their data. We will check the email addresses against the TechSoup database to determine what percentage of NetSquared members have TechSoup accounts, both individually and organizationally.
Confidentiality Commitment
TechSoup will only use your list for the purposes of this research project.
Upon completion the results will be shared with you and the list will be deleted. TechSoup will not keep any email addresses shared as part of the project.
